The early access launch of Overwatch 2 was marred by a few bugs and a massive DDoS attack that prevented players from accessing the game. Fans have reported getting stuck on the loading screen and receiving error after error.
They are also placed in line behind hundreds — and in some cases, tens of thousands — of other players. Blizzard president Mike Ybarra initially tweeted that the game is having server issues and that the company’s teams are working hard to resolve them.

However, in a subsequent tweet, the executive admitted that the game is “undergoing a mass DDoS attack” on its servers, which is causing drop and connection issues.
The new free-to-play shooter was created by Blizzard for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The new game reduces team sizes from six to five, resulting in only one tank per team.
It also includes new maps, heroes, and features, such as the ability to place a Ping on the enemy’s location to alert the rest of the team to their presence.
Overwatch servers went down shortly after the sequel’s release, leaving fans with no choice but to wait for Blizzard to fix the problem before they can play the game again.
Aside from mitigating the DDoS attack, Blizzard must also address a number of bugs that surfaced shortly after the game’s release.
Items and currency disappearing from players’ collections, sections not populating, some areas becoming inaccessible, actions resulting in a blackscreen, and Blizzard’s SMS Protect rendering the client inoperable are among them.

Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller said in a tweet that Blizzard will work all night to address server issues and a second DDoS attack.
