Shama Sikander Will Hold A White Wedding In Goa In March 2022

"We have invited around 60 people. I wanted to keep my wedding intimate from the word go. A wedding can be grand even with just close friends attending it. It all depends on how you design it, make it come to life and the memories you create."

Shama Sikander, the Yeh Meri Life Hai actress, who rose to prominence for her work in the web series Sexaholic and Vikram Bhatt’s web series Maaya is all set to stage her wedding in March 2022.

Shama Sikander and James Milliron, the much-in-love couple, were supposed to marry in 2020, according to the uninitiated. However, their plans were hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic, and they were forced to postpone their wedding.

Previously, Shama was proposed to by James on New Year’s Eve 2015 at Dubai’s seven-star hotel, Burj Al Arab, and the pictures and video shared by the duo on their respective social media handle since then speak volumes about their relationship.

But all their fans are waiting to see how the couple will look in their wedding gowns. Shama recently revealed details about the same in an interview.

Shama Sikander revealed in an interview with The Times Of India that she and her fiance, James Milliron, will marry on March 14, 2022, in Goa. She stated that the theme of her wedding would be ‘white,’ but that it would carry on both of their traditions, and she dubbed her wedding ‘India meets America.’

“James and I have waited for two years for this day. We will have a white wedding and it will be a two-day affair. We are keeping it more international because many of our relatives are settled abroad. It will be ‘India meets America’.

“I love seeing people at white weddings, but I had never thought of how I wanted mine to be. I love the simplicity, class and elegance associated with the white wedding. I don’t believe much in rituals. The only one I believe in is coming together and celebrating love. So, it will be more of a spiritual wedding than a ritualistic one,” she said.

Shama went on to say that she is a spontaneous person. She mentioned that they had even reserved a venue in Turkey but had to cancel due to the pandemic.

“I am a spontaneous person and organised at the same time. However, I don’t believe in planning way ahead. I believe in living in the moment. We had been waiting for two years for this day and had even booked a venue in Turkey before the pandemic.

“Even now, there are travel restrictions and I don’t want my guests to go through any stress. So, we decided to change it and that’s how we zeroed in on Goa. Since the climate will change in a couple of months, we decided to get married in March,” she said.

When asked if they would hold a ceremony in America if their few relatives couldn’t travel to India, Shama stated that they would. She stated that the Goan wedding would be small and intimate and that they wanted to create lasting memories.

She said, “We have invited around 60 people. I wanted to keep my wedding intimate from the word go. A wedding can be grand even with just close friends attending it. It all depends on how you design it, make it come to life and the memories you create.”

The actress wrapped up the interview by discussing her and James’ wedding plans. She also discussed James’ parents and how the couple anticipates his parents’ presence at their wedding despite many challenges.

“They(James’ parents) don’t even have their passports. They were trying to make them, but the pandemic struck. We are hoping that they make it to the wedding provided their passports are made on time. Unfortunately, a lot of James’ relatives can’t travel to India on such short notice.

“The Americans plan one year in advance unlike us. It sort of surprised me. Hum Indians ko toh abhi bolo hum chal chalenge. Sab dekh lenge ho jaata hai yahaan par. After agreeing to tie the knot in a month’s time, I realised that I wasn’t prepared at all. Mere toh kapde bhi final nahi hain (laughs!),” she said.
