If you’ve been immersed in the world of Alan Wake 2 in recent months, you’re not alone. Remedy Entertainment, the renowned game developer, recently announced that Alan Wake 2 has achieved remarkable success, becoming their fastest-selling game to date.

Since its release in October 2023, the game has sold an impressive 1.3 million units, surpassing all expectations.

Alan Wake 2’s digital copies have flown off the virtual shelves, outselling fellow Remedy game Control by three times in the first two months. This achievement is a significant milestone for Remedy Entertainment, as it continues to expand its reach and influence in the gaming industry.

Remedy CEO Tero Virtala expressed his delight at the game’s success, stating, “The successful launch of Alan Wake 2 has not only boosted our confidence but has also supported our other game projects, including Condor, Control 2, and the highly anticipated Max Payne 1 and 2 remake.

The personnel released from Alan Wake 2 have joined these projects, and we expect them to reach their next development stages during the first half of 2024.”

Although Alan Wake 2 has achieved significant sales, it has yet to turn a profit for the company. However, Virtala remains optimistic, stating that the game has already recouped a substantial portion of the development and marketing expenses.

He expects the game to generate excellent long-tail sales, similar to the success of Control, which has sold over 4 million units since its release in August 2019. For those who have yet to experience the captivating world of Alan Wake, the sequel builds upon the foundation established by the original game released in 2010.

Players are drawn into Remedy’s Connected Universe, where they encounter a thrilling combination of monsters, ghosts, demonic possession, shifting realities, rock operas, and paranormal murder.

Remedy Entertainment has exciting plans for the future of Alan Wake 2. In the near future, the game will receive two paid DLCs, further expanding the immersive narrative and offering players even more thrilling experiences.

Additionally, the upcoming release of Control 2 will likely extend the Connected Universe, providing Remedy fans with an abundance of paranormal and interconnected content to enjoy in the coming months and years.
