Prime Minister Narendra Modi has on Monday received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS and has also advised those who are eligible to bold up and get their own dose of the jab as well.

Taking it to Twitter after receiving the vaccine jab, Modi said, “Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19.”
“I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!”
The prime minister also posted a picture of himself getting the first dose of the made in India COVAXIN from sister P Niveda. The picture also shows him sporting an Assamese ‘gamocha’ and getting inoculated happily as a second nurse stood behind.
A source revealed that the prime minister decided to head to AIIMS without prior arrangement of any route on the roads, and early morning to make sure inconveniencing people are avoided.
The second phase of the vaccine rollout will cover people above 60-years and people from 45-years and above with comorbidities from today and registration will take place on the Co-WIN2.0 portal from 9 am.
All citizens should be able to register and book an appointment to receive the vaccine anytime and anywhere they want, using the Co-WIN 2.0 portal or via other IT applications such as Arogya Setu.
Training on different aspects of the process of vaccination and management of serious events following immunization (AEFI) via video conference with the support of the National Health Authority (NHA) was given to the private empanelled COVID-19 Vaccination Centres (CVCs)

The ministry said, “There will be only one live appointment for a beneficiary at any point of time for each dose. Appointments for any date for a COVID Vaccination Center will be closed at 3 pm on that day for which the slots were opened.”
