Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced three new independent board directors. Therefore, filling three out of the four vacant positions on the board.
Vuyokazi Memani-Sedile, Dheven Dharmalingam, and Dr. Eugenia Kula-Ameyaw were announced at a meeting held early this week. The trio joins Prof. Steve Cornelius and Marius Schoeman as independent directors on CSA’s board.

“I am delighted to welcome the new directors to the board. They bring important areas of expertise to our deliberations and I am sure will make important and valued contributions to our activities,” CSA president Chris Nenzani said.
The appointments serve as a start for CSA to regain its credibility. After three former independent board directors, Mohammed Iqbal Khan, Shirley Zinn, and Dawn Makhobo resigned last year due to maladministration.
The three new appointments have strong finance backgrounds, Dharmalingam is a chartered accountant. He has served as an independent director for nine years on the board of the Habib Bank of Zurich. In addition, he is a former CFO at Mutual and Federal.

Similarly, Memani-Sedile has an extensive finance background. Currently, she is an independent director on the Cancer Association of South Africa, she holds the title of Investment committee chair. In addition, she is the Chairperson for the Vista University Early Retirement Trust and Diocese of Pretoria Non-Profit Company.
Finally, Dr. Kula-Ameyaw currently serves on numerous corporate boards and has previously chaired the Transformation Committee of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA).
Memani-Sedile, Dharmalingam CA(SA), and Dr. Kula-Ameyaw will serve on the board until September 2020. Then CSA will then hold their Annual General Meeting and the trio will be permitted for re-election. Thereafter they will serve a three-year tenure.
